About us - Our strength is our network

We believe that our strength lies in our unique perspective at the intersection of technology, social action, sustainability, and government. We connect people and organizations from diverse backgrounds, to create new solutions to the world’s most pressing problems.

Base6 was started by two friends, Rik and Max, who saw that large social problems like climate change were stuck in a morass of conflicting incentives, outdated funding systems, and siloed information. We believe that if humanity is going to make meaningful progress on large-scale challenges, humanity needs organizations that can balance profit with effective collective action.

At Base6, we’re more than just company — we’re a network. Through our online platform, EarthNet, we catalyse ground-breaking collaborations between companies, non-profit organizations, and governments.

Our culture - Make a real impact.

Our mission is to develop systems that merge technology with social progress to create healthier and more sustainable systems. We respect both nature and humanity, using innovation rooted in compassion to heal and uplift both human and natural systems.

  • Empathy. We strive for resonance with others' feelings and viewpoints, ensuring our projects align with stakeholder needs. This understanding manifests in our active and sincere engagement throughout our endeavours.
  • Collaborative. More than just teamwork, collaboration is about harnessing collective intelligence to achieve shared aspirations. This principle is embedded in our ethos, emphasizing shared responsibilities and the value of every member's contribution.
  • Adaptable. Our ability to pivot and adjust in a rapidly changing world underscores our commitment to relevance. We champion flexibility, eagerly adjusting our strategies based on new insights or evolving needs.
  • Transparent. By operating openly, we cultivate trust and facilitate informed decision-making. Our commitment to transparency manifests in open communication, documentation, and a pledge to keep stakeholders informed at every juncture.
  • Organized. Efficiency and clarity guide our operations. We ensure that each project is structured for success through systematic planning, dedicated tools, and systematic approaches.
  • Holistic. We view things with a systems-lens. looking to the bigger picture, understanding how individual parts interrelate and how they feed, and are fed by, external systems. This way of seeing helps us pay attention to the nuance and the non-obvious effects.
